7 Best Crypto Copy Trading Platforms 2026

Sponsored guest post: BloFin, which appears at number 2, paid for this article. CoinCodeCap edited it, corrected its figures and added the contract counts and fee sums. The article carries one paid link, to BloFin’s BTCUSDT market.

How we checked this: On 5 November 2026 we downloaded the full contract list from each exchange’s public API. From those lists we counted the live perpetual contracts and read the top leverage on BTC and ETH. Fees, VIP rules and country limits come from each exchange’s own help pages and announcements, read the same day. The first draft had several wrong or out-of-date figures, and we replaced them. CoinCodeCap edited the piece with AI help.

TL;DR

  • Bitget runs the biggest copy-trading network by its own count. Its protection fund averaged about $382 million in August 2026.
  • BloFin shows Sharpe, Sortino and Calmar ratios for each lead trader, so you can compare risk as well as return.
  • MEXC lists the most contracts (1,178) at the lowest base fees, but Hong Kong’s regulator has it on an alert list.
  • Kraken Pro has no copy trading. It is here as the licensed choice for traders in the EU and the US.
  • On a $10,000 copied position, the fees for one round trip run from $4 on MEXC to $12 on Bitget and BloFin.

⚠️ Risk warning: Copy trading copies losses as well as gains. At 100x, a price move of less than 1% against a position can liquidate it. UK rules ban crypto derivatives for retail traders, and none of the exchanges below offers copy trading to US residents.

Crypto copy trading platforms link your account to a lead trader’s. When the lead trader opens or closes a futures position, the platform places the same trade in your account, scaled to the amount you set aside.

The platform you pick decides what you can see about a trader before you follow them and what each copied trade costs. It also decides whether you can use it at all where you live.

7 Crypto Copy Trading Platforms Compared

Contract counts and BTC leverage come from each exchange’s public API on 5 November 2026. Fees are the base (non-VIP) futures rates.

1. Bitget: The Biggest Copy-Trading Network

Bitget says it runs the largest copy-trading network in crypto. Its own pages give different counts, between 100,000 and 110,000 lead traders, so treat the claim as Bitget’s. Before you copy anyone, the One-Click Copy Trade profile shows the trader’s return, win rate and maximum drawdown.

Bitget’s user protection fund averaged about $382 million in August 2026, against a promised floor of $300 million. The fund is held mostly in bitcoin, so its dollar value moves with the BTC price. Bitget also publishes a proof-of-reserves report every month, and the August report put reserves at 122% of customer balances.

On 5 November its API showed 930 live perpetuals, 881 of them margined in USDT and 49 in USDC, with up to 150x on BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT. Its 0.06% base taker fee ties with BloFin’s as the highest here. VIP 1 starts at 30,000 USDT in assets or 5 million USDT of 30-day futures volume. Bitget does not serve US residents.

2. BloFin: Risk Ratios on Every Lead Trader

BloFin publishes Sharpe, Sortino and Calmar ratios for each lead trader. All three divide return by a measure of risk. A trader who made 40% with large swings can score below one who made 30% with small ones, and that is the trader most followers should prefer.

Of the 528 live perpetuals in BloFin’s API on 5 November, 514 use stablecoin margin and 14 use the coin itself. Leverage reaches 150x on the BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT contracts, 125x on SOLUSDT and BTCUSDC, and 100x on the coin-margined BTCUSD contract. Coin-M Copy Trading, on the web platform only, copies trades on those coin-margined contracts. On those contracts, profit and loss settle in BTC.

Two tools help if you also trade by hand. Auto Breakeven, added in August 2026, moves your stop to the price that covers opening fees, closing fees and funding once a target is hit. BloFin warns that the exit is a market order, so slippage can still leave a small loss. Multi-Position mode lets you hold several separate positions on the same contract and side, each with its own leverage and stop.

VIP 1 cuts BloFin’s base fees to 0.006% maker and 0.05% taker once you hold 50,000 USDT or trade 10 million USDT of futures in 30 days. BloFin says it holds customer funds with Fireblocks.

BloFin runs offshore and lists no licence from a major financial regulator. It does not serve the US or Canada. Its order books on smaller coins are thinner than Binance’s, so large copied orders there can fill at worse prices.

3. Bybit: Copy Bots as Well as Traders

Bybit lets you copy human traders or, through Bot Copy Trading, futures grid bots. That bot option has run since December 2023. It covers USDT perpetuals and futures grid bots only; other bot types can’t be copied.

Bybit had 909 perpetuals live on 5 November, all but 22 of them margined in USDT or USDC. BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT allow up to 150x at the smallest position size. Bybit’s VIP 1 tier, which cuts its base fees, needs 100,000 USDT in assets or 10 million USDT of 30-day derivatives volume.

Geography is the bigger limit. Bybit blocks the US and Canada, and UK users get spot trading only. Since 1 July 2026, EU users sit on Bybit EU, which holds a MiCA licence from Austria but offers no futures yet.

4. OKX: Copy Trading and Bots on One Account

OKX puts copy trading next to its grid, DCA and signal trading bots inside one unified account. Spot, perpetuals and options can share the same collateral. Advanced users can switch on portfolio margin, which sets hedged positions against each other and lowers the margin they need.

OKX lists 540 perpetuals, 15 of them coin-margined, and caps BTC and ETH at 100x. In spring 2026, OKX cut the futures volume needed for VIP 1 to $5 million.

New traders will find the screen crowded. US residents can open an OKX US account, but it offers spot trading only, with no copy trading or derivatives.

5. Binance: The Deepest Order Books

Binance runs the largest crypto futures market, and its BTC and ETH order books are the deepest. That matters when hundreds of followers copy the same market order, because a deep book means less slippage on the later fills. Copy trading covers more than 100 USD-M contracts; coin-margined contracts are not included.

Not all of Binance’s 820 live perpetuals are crypto. Of those, 235 track stocks, commodities and other traditional assets; the rest are 565 stablecoin-margined crypto contracts and 20 coin-margined ones. BTC leverage reaches 125x, but new accounts can’t go above 20x for their first 30 days.

Paying fees in BNB takes 10% off the base rates. VIP 1 needs $5 million of 30-day futures volume plus 5 BNB, down from $15 million and 25 BNB before March 2026.

Binance has no MiCA licence. Since 1 July 2026, users in the EU can’t open accounts, deposit or place new spot orders, though withdrawals stay open. Binance left Canada in 2023, and Binance.US offers no perpetuals.

6. MEXC: The Most Contracts and the Lowest Fees

MEXC had 1,178 live perpetuals on 5 November, more than any other platform here, and many are newly listed altcoins. BTCUSDT and ETHUSDT go up to 500x, the highest leverage in this list. Manual trades on the website or app cost 0% maker and 0.02% taker on BTCUSDT. Copy trading covers USDT-margined contracts.

Orders sent through the API cost more: 0.06% maker and 0.08% taker since 1 June 2026. Order books on small contracts are thin, so copied fills can drift in a fast market, and the leverage cap falls quickly as a position grows.

Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission added MEXC to its list of suspicious virtual asset platforms in 2024. MEXC does not serve the US, Canada, mainland China, Hong Kong or Singapore.

7. Kraken Pro: Licensed Access, but No Copy Trading

Kraken Pro has no copy trading. It is on this list for traders who want derivatives from a licensed firm. In the EU, Kraken holds a MiFID II licence through its Cyprus company. US traders can reach CME-cleared crypto futures through Kraken Derivatives US, run by NinjaTrader Clearing since July 2025.

Kraken says it has never had a security breach that cost customers money, and it first published a proof-of-reserves audit in 2014. Its futures list is the shortest here, at 209 perpetuals. The base rates in the table apply below $5 million of monthly volume.

In May 2026, Kraken raised BTC and ETH leverage to 100x. The higher limit covers only the first $1 million of a BTC position or $500,000 of an ETH one, and it is not offered to EU or US users. Most altcoins top out between 10x and 50x.

What a Copied Trade Costs in Fees

Copied orders usually fill as market orders, so they pay the taker fee twice: once to open and once to close. The table below prices one round trip on $1,000 of margin at 10x, a $10,000 position, at each platform’s base rate.

One trade looks cheap: at 10x on Bitget, the price only has to move 0.12% to cover the fees. Trade count is what hurts. A lead trader who opens and closes 20 positions a month at this size costs a follower $240 in fees on Bitget, which is 24% of the $1,000 stake. That comes before the trader’s profit share and any funding payments.

4 Things to Check Before You Copy a Trader

  • Read the maximum drawdown before the return. A trader with a 300% gain over 30 days and an 85% drawdown has nearly wiped out their followers once already.
  • Expect slippage on busy trades. When many followers copy the same market order, the later fills land at worse prices, and on thin contracts a winning trade for the lead trader can be a losing one for you.
  • Count the trades. Every round trip costs you the fees in the table above, so a very active trader can show a profit while their followers lose money.
  • Test with a demo account or a small stake first, and watch how copied orders and your own stop-loss settings behave before you add size.

4 Frequently Asked Questions

Which exchange is best for copy trading crypto derivatives?

Bitget has the largest copy-trading network by its own count and a protection fund above $300 million. BloFin shows the most risk data on each lead trader. Traders in the EU or the US who want a licensed firm can use Kraken Pro, which has no copy trading.

Is copy trading profitable for beginners?

It can be, but you copy the losses as well as the gains. Check each trader’s drawdown and trade count, keep your leverage low, and set your own stop-loss on copied positions.

Can US residents copy trade crypto derivatives?

Not on these platforms. Bitget, BloFin, Bybit and MEXC block US residents, OKX US offers spot trading only, and Binance.US has no perpetuals. US traders can reach CME-cleared crypto futures through Kraken Derivatives US, which has no copy trading.

Which platform has the lowest copy-trading fees?

MEXC, at 0% maker and 0.02% taker on manual BTCUSDT trades. A $10,000 round trip costs $4 there, against $10 to $12 on the other six. Its API rates are higher, and it is on Hong Kong’s alert list.

Bottom line: Bitget and BloFin tell followers the most about the traders they copy, and BloFin’s risk ratios make drawdown easier to compare. MEXC is the cheapest but carries a regulator warning. Check what is allowed where you live before you sign up: none of the six exchanges with copy trading offers it to US residents, and Bybit and Binance have cut back in the EU and the UK.
